Naming
Attribution
Charts are frequently screenshotted and shared without their original captions or article context. Please include the "Artificial Analysis" attribution inside the chart image, at a legibility comparable to your axis labels. If you rebuild the chart in your own house style, the attribution should remain within the frame.
Footer inside the chart: "Source: Artificial Analysis"
Attribution only in the article body, social post, or a separate footnote
Please link directly to the specific leaderboard, model page, or methodology page the figure is drawn from, rather than our homepage. This lets readers verify the number in one click and see the current value, since our data updates frequently.

"independent benchmarks" → artificialanalysis.ai
"Artificial Analysis" on first mention; "AA" afterwards is fine.
Precision
We maintain many indices and benchmarks, version them, and re-run them as models and endpoints change. A score without a version and date is not reproducible, and a benchmark we've adapted is distinct from the original. The conventions below keep citations accurate as our data evolves.
Index scores are not comparable across versions. Please state the version wherever the number appears, including tables and model cards.
Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index v4.1: 68
AA Index: 68
Where we run our own implementation of a third-party benchmark, the suffix is part of the benchmark name. It signals that the harness, prompts, and scoring are ours, and that results will not match the original paper. Omitting it attributes our result to the original authors.

Leaderboards move. Please include the access date alongside the figure, and phrase ranking claims relative to that date.
"#1 on the Artificial Analysis Speech Arena as of 19 Aug 2026"
"The world's #1 model on Artificial Analysis"
Please cite our metrics by their published names. Paraphrases can suggest a different measurement than the one taken, and make figures harder for readers to trace back to the source.
"Intelligence Index vs. Price"
"Intelligence vs. Price"
Where a result depends on a reasoning effort level, endpoint, or provider, please specify which one. A single model name can cover several measured configurations with materially different scores, costs, and speeds.
Boundaries
What the citation may and may not imply
| Status | Use | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Permitted | Quoting scores, ranks, and charts | Published results may be cited and screenshotted under these guidelines. Please contact us for commercial usage. |
| Permitted | Rebuilding our data in your own charts | Provided values are unaltered, the axis and metric names are retained, and Artificial Analysis is credited within the chart. |
| Permitted | "Independently benchmarked by Artificial Analysis" | Accurate: we ran the evaluation on our own harness. |
| Not Permitted | "Verified by" / "Certified by" / "In partnership with" | Imply a commercial or approval relationship. We benchmark independently; we do not endorse or certify. |
| Not Permitted | Our logo as an endorsement mark | The wordmark may appear as a source credit on a chart. It may not sit in a partner wall, badge, or product page that suggests approval. |
| Not Permitted | Cropping, re-scaling, or filtering a chart to change the story | Removing competitors, truncating an axis, or hiding a version label changes the finding. |
| Not Permitted | Bulk redistribution of the underlying dataset | Citing figures is distinct from republishing the data. Bulk or systematic use is governed by our API terms — please contact us. |
